CBC will send CBC News services to the Snapchat Discover platform, which publishes editorial content and videos from its multimedia partners. Five times a week, Snapchat users will have access to the CBC News edition created specifically for social platforms, with the latest news offering two or three segments of news full of graphics and video on the move.
The goal is to allow CBC, which has reached a production sharing agreement with Snap, to reach young Canadians with short-format mobile content, because they run the risk of being cutters or cables. Snapchat currently has more than 10 million users in Canada.

The Canadian stations follow other news produced by Snapchat in Discover by NBC News, CNN and The New York Times. Unlike most of Snapchat’s personal posts, the CBC News content will not expire after 24 hours.
