CBC News is now on Snapchat

CBC News Service chase young Canadians with news and videos from mobile content sent five times a week to the Snapchat’s Discover platform. CBC News Service enter Snapchat with their cable news network.

CBC will send CBC News services to the Snapchat Discover platform, which publishes editorial content and videos from its multimedia partners. Five times a week, Snapchat users will have access to the CBC News edition created specifically for social platforms, with the latest news offering two or three segments of news full of graphics and video on the move.

The goal is to allow CBC, which has reached a production sharing agreement with Snap, to reach young Canadians with short-format mobile content, because they run the risk of being cutters or cables. Snapchat currently has more than 10 million users in Canada.

“Canadians get more information from more sources than ever before in today’s digital landscape, and we’re constantly looking for new ways to share the news of our trust with a younger audience,” said Jennifer McGuire, CBC chief editor and editor News. in a prayer.

The way in which the national Snapchat news will be received will also provide a measure of how much (or how little) young Canadians have left traditional television when they look for the latest news on their smartphones. Later this year, CBC will also launch a weekly edition of culture and entertainment on the Snapchat Discover platform.
