On certain Snapchat posts like photo of a building or place uploaded to Our Stories, other Snapchat users will be able to find out more related information about the place in the picture including maps, reviews, booking options, even book Uber rides to get there. Context Cards will not be available on every Snapchat posts. So you do not have to worry if every photo that you upload to Snapchat will be transformed into a marketing tool. Context Cards will only be available on the location that has been tagged with the company’s venue-specific Geofilters, or with any Snap that has been submitted to the public ‘Our Story’ feed and appears in Snap Map or Search.
Context Card is available on a post if you find the word “More” which appears at the bottom of the snap. You just need to swipe up the snap to get more information on the physical location. The function will work on both snaps from friends and on Snap Maps.
Snapchat Context Card will be available in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia and New Zealand on iOS and Android at launch, with additional countries to be announced at a later date.
