Snapchat works with Lego to open a virtual store. The contents of the Lego Store can only be seen using the Snapchat app. You can explore and browse at the Lego Store using your Smartphone.
This Lego Store with Augmented reality technology was only opened in Fitzrovia, London. In this pop-up shop, you can get a limited-edition Lego Wear clothing line for adults.
When visiting this store don’t be surprised if you only find an empty room. They only provide a Snapcode that you can scan using the Snapchat app. This Snapcode will take you to enter the virtual Lego boutique.
By using Snapchat’s AR technology, you can move around and see several different parts of what you see through your Smartphone’s screen, such as an interactive DJ booth, an arcade machine and the ability to look through the clothing range displayed on Lego mannequins.
“We’re an innovative, playful brand at heart and part of that is exploring new digital channels and technologies,” said Lea Sandell, social media innovation lead at the Lego Group.
“This was a unique opportunity to collaborate with Kabooki on their brand new limited edition product for adults and tap into both the sense of style and the nostalgia of that audience – while exploring that interesting space where the digital and physical worlds merge.”
If you are in London and want to visit this Lego Virtual Store, you can visit 55 Eastcastle Street from 10am to 5pm.
