- Update your Snapchat app to the latest version
- Make sure you are registering Snapchat using the correct data, such as place and date of birth.
- If you have filled in the date of birth correctly, Snapchat will detect whether you are over 18 years old. If you are over 18 years of age, you will receive a new “Register to vote” link directly in your Snapchat’s profile page.
- Open the “Register to vote” link, and you will be taken to the TurboVote portal an in-app.
- According to Democracy Works, which created TurboVote and partnered with Snapchat for the new in-app feature, TurboVote will also remind users of upcoming elections, registration deadlines, and polling locations.
The registration campaign also available on the Discover pages of some media partners like the Washington Post and Good Luck America. You just have to swipe up to register to vote on the Discover page.
In addition, Snapchat also launched a filter to promote National Voter Registration Day. Snapchat have a curated relevant news stories that will also be linked directly to the registration page, which can be accessed by swiping up.
